Old Course Ballot & Single Golfers

For golfers who have not chosen to secure an Old Course tee time in advance, there is still an option to apply for one via the Daily Ballot system. The St Andrews Old Course Ballot is drawn two days ahead of play with the exception of Friday as there is no play on the Old Course on Sundays. To enter the ballot, golfers names, home golf clubs and handicaps are required (Maximum of 24 for men and 36 for ladies). The deadline for entering the ballot is 2pm and the results are usually available by 4pm. St Andrews Golf Travel provides a selection of packages which access The Old Course through the ballot. It is advised that a minimum stay of five nights is booked in order to maximise your chances.

SINGLE GOLFERS - Single golfers with suitable handicaps who wish to play the Old Course without an existing tee time should check in at the Old Pavilion on the day of play and the staff will do their best to join them with a two or three-ball group. With patience, this can be successful but there are no guarantees.
